It is the individual and shared, large and small decisions of the people that "make the city" and shape urban cultural uniqueness. We all constantly “make city”! Cities and municipalities are always involved in national and global challenges and in what constitutes the neighbourhood every day. Urban development policy not only connects spatial, temporal and factual coordination channels, but above all also the relevant actors. It draws attention to interdependencies and the need for common solutions. In doing so, it creates the framework for sustainable ideas for the future, for joint learning, negotiating, balancing and making decisions for the common good - all with the goal of sustainable and integrated development of cities and the countryside.
The National Urban Development Policy supports projects and actors on the ground, promotes the exchange of experience, the testing of new processes and accompanying research on a wide variety of topics in integrated urban development. You can find out more about the topics and research on integrated urban development here.
