The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and the German Academy for Urban and Regional Spatial Planning are pleased to invite for the fourth time to dialogues between scientists and practitioners during a university day organised by the National Urban Development Policy programme.

Urban development is a task for the people in their cities, districts and regions. It is local and is connected to competition. Given the increasing pace of globalization, the fact that we likewise live in one world is something that we are aware of even in daily life. Competition also calls for close collaboration. Not just since the financial and sovereign debt crises has it been clear just how strongly interlinked we all are. We will exploit the opportunities and at the same time have tackle the tasks at hand.
