Open space design as a basis for urban restructuring

In the large housing estate “Leinefelde-Süd”, idle tenements and urban restructuring were used to fundamentally improve the open space system. A central aim of the townscape development concept is the creation of an uninterrupted green band connecting the town centre with the surrounding landscape.
