Transformation of mining brownfields into forest areas as part of the international architectural exhibition “IBA Emscher Park”. These are now becoming natural leisure areas for city dwellers. The opening up of the formerly closed industrial site for neighbouring residents and visitors is combined with a training project and the maintenance and development services provided by a forest warden.
